Director of Education and Evacuation

Hope Center is actively seeking a Director of Education and Evacuation to work for our Skilled Nursing Facility in Bronx, NY. The ideal candidate will have previous skilled nursing facility experience.

DUTIES:

* Responsible for overseeing the educational needs of the staff (staff development and improvement processes) to meet NYSDOH & other regulatory mandates
* Create, implement, and maintain a thorough evacuation plan for residents and staff of the facility in the event of an emergency
* Monitor and oversee employee health and orientation processes for our healthcare facility
* Educate, coach and verify staff performance to ensure best practice, compliance and top customer service
* Have familiarity with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
* Familiarity with HIV/AIDS treatment plans and procedures
* Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, etc
* Record and document educational activity, attendance and responses
* Report on active projects, reactions, and progress of nursing staff
* Assist Director of Quality and or Director of Nursing in planning, coordinating and implementing staff programs and services to ensure a well-educated staff.
* Maintain appropriate records and assist in data collection for assessment and evaluation purposes
* Consult with and keeps Director of Quality and or Director of Nursing informed as appropriate or required
* Maintain good departmental relationships, interacting effectively with all internal and external customers
* Maintain close contact with employees off work, on disability or workman's compensation, and their physicians to facilitate their earliest possible return to work
* Review incident reports, OSHA reports, involving employees injured at work & coordinates education, loss prevention program with our safety program

REQUIREMENTS:

* Current New York State RN License is Preferred
* 1-3 years experience working with HIV/AIDS patients
* Long-Term Care Experience
* Solid computer skills; working knowledge of MS Office
* Excellent communication skills
* Should be friendly and a team worker
